Transport Planner

POSITION OVERVIEW

 

The Transport Planner is responsible for the timely delivery of goods from Source Distribution Center to Consolidator Warehouses. He or she will provide and manage the trucks to transport the finished goods in compliace to deployment plan issues based on the inventory goal per consolidator warehouse. He or she will avoid stock outs and unnecessary customer penalties with an end view of driving high conversion of gross to goods orders.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate a transport plan based on the deployment plan received and assigning trips per unit to load within a 3-day cycle.
  • Distribute copies of the transport plan to all Source Distribution Centers, followed by the dispatching of truck units to execute the plan.
  • Ensures truck availability to haul finished goods from Source Distribution Center to Consolidator Warehouses to be able to maintain stocks level in every Consolidator Warehouse to avoid stock out.
  • Analyze delivery cost and may recommend a more efficient way to transport. This is to practice the four (4) functions as follows: Plan, Execute, Monitor and Evaluate.
  • Monite the whereabouts of every truck, it may be through Global Positioning System (GPS) and Electronic Communication and Online Trucking (E-COT) to be aware of the truck's arrival to destination warehouses and to avoid dwell time.
  • Coordinate with Source Distribution Centers for the timely loading and unloading at Consolidator Warehouses thru constant follow-ups to align transport plan versus deployment plan.
  • Closely monitor the finished goods transfer and provide feedback tot he deployment planners for them to adjust the deployment plan that aligned to the customer needs.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of any Bachelor of Science, preferably in Industrial Engineering or any four-year course with Supply Chain background
  • With in-depth knowledge and understanding of Inventory Management in an SAP environment, Stock Transfer/Deployment Planning, Inventory Planning and overall Logistics Operations.
  • Must be computer literate, particularly in MS Office and other optimization tools.
  • Must be assertive, honest, competent and hardworking.
  • With good interpersonal skills and able to communicate effecively both verbal and written form.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, analytical, proactive and quality-oriented.
